Our Design Philosophy :

The form does not follow the function and the function does not follow the form.

The form and the function follow the budget.

Our Design/Build Concept is Your Blueprint to Satisfaction

In order to fully meet your project's goals and requirements, you and Scherer Construction & Engineering, LLC work as a team from the beginning. Clear lines of communication are established to keep you informed and involved in the design, construction, and budget. Unlike conventional bid methods, you always know where you stand.

Our four-phase design/build process allows you more control over costs. We tell you of alternate methods and provide regular project updates. These methods assure you a competitive price from the outset.
  • Step 1 - The Preliminary Phase

When your ideas and requirements are transformed into preliminary drawings by our team, we prepare cost projections and construction work surveys based on these drawings. At this point you may authorize studies to provide you with additional information on alternative designs and construction methods. Our value engineering approach allows you to see how different design and construction methods can affect costs and material selection. Once costs are established, Scherer Construction & Engineering, LLC offers several types of contract agreements to meet your specific needs.

  • Step 2 - Your Project Manager and Final Design

As the preliminary stage reaches the point for final design to begin, a project manager is appointed who is best suited to oversee your project. This person is experienced in code research and contract administration as well as estimating, purchasing, design and construction. The project manager is also responsible for reviewing the progress weekly to make sure you are satisfied. As each design section is completed and approved , the necessary documents are prepared and submitted to each government agency, thereby keeping permitting time to a minimum.

  • Step 3 - The Pre-Construction Phase

When the final drawings are complete, we negotiate with selected subcontractors and material suppliers. Whatever the requirements of the project, Scherer Construction & Engineering, LLC awards contracts only to firms that have a proven track record in their quality of work and competitiveness in their pricing. Simultaneously, the permitting process is constantly updated to ensure the earliest possible construction start date.

  • Step 4 - Your Building Begins

Scherer Construction & Engineering, LLC uses the critical path method (CPM) management technique to ensure job control and resource efficiency. CPM scheduling encompasses the entire project including deadlines of major construction operations, significant milestones, equipment deliveries and occupancy commitments.

Once construction begins, scheduled metings between the project manager and the subcontractors provide a system of accountability that result ina strict adherence to the overall CPM schedule. At these meetings they will review progress and plan ahead to avert potential problems, maintain quality standards and secure commitments for upcoming activities.

The end result is a quality project, delivered on time, and on budget while maintaining customer satisfaction. Working as a partner alongside our customers is the Scherer Construction & Engineering, LLC tradition.
